Artist’s Statement
Flowers are the perfect subject, the paradox of capturing their strong intense colour while
describing their delicate transient beauty is the starting point for most of my paintings.
My interest lies principally in exploring colour, light and form through vibrant watercolour
and mixed media.
Biography
Education 1976-1980 Graduated BA(Hons) Edinburgh College of Art
Career 2007- Full time professional artist
2006- Associate Lecturer in Art Education, University of Paisley
1991- 2006 Head of Art and Design, Wellington School, Ayr
1980-Freelance Botanical Artist
Media Trained in Ceramics and woven tapestry but works principally in watercolour, mixed
media and oil.
